Those darned gloves still aren't done. And you know what?? I probably have all of 2 hours of work left on them. Walking in from the parking garage this morning, I really wished they were complete...
Cold. Cold. Cold.
Don't get me wrong, I love the cold. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons :) But I also love to talk on the phone while I'm walking and that keeps my hands out of my pockets. Finishing another freelance project, then shopping for swap goodies [I have four in the works now!!].
And finishing the stupid gloves :p

in the dark
While I took my crochet projects with me to the Eerie Horror Fest, I also took a 100 page freelance project that had to be done by 5pm on Friday. The first chance I had to pull out my hook and yarn was mid-day on Saturday when I participated in a "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" screening and Q&A. Luckily, I'm able to crochet perfectly well with my eyes closed [light sensitivity due to migraine made that a necessity], so a dark movie theatre was easy as pie. Arm warmer #2 is half done. Then I need to decide if I'm going to put in webbing between the fingers to keep them from sliding up my arms.

Begin agin...
My mama used to sing me that song when I was a wee little girl :) I'm heading home tomorrow to visit her, my sister and nephew, and to vend at the Eerie Horror Festival. Fabulous :)
Well, I finished fingerless glove #1. Tried it on and it was too small... even for my little hands. It seems my old bad habit has snuck back up - making that initial change too tight.
So, I started again. Looser this time. Much looser. I finished the first glove in little time at all. The kids and Eric and I were watching a movie that I'd seen already [IronMan],so I didn't have to look at the TV much. Now, I have one finished and can use the 8-hour drive to Pennsylvania to work on the other. Maybe I'll wear them this weekend :)

Crafting ... again
I finally [after years of searching] found a crochet pattern that I like for fingerless gloves. Most of the ones I'd come across were really bulky, but these are made with baby yarn, so they're soft and thin. Lion Brand Yarn has also come out with baby-weight yarn in black, so this little goth heart of mine is pleased. I started a set last night when Project Runway began and worked for about 1.5 hours. I had a few spare minutes this morning and then just used one of my often-wasted 15-minute breaks to put in a little more work. They are supposed to be 17 rows long. I'm at 19 and may keep going until they cover my entire forearm. I love the armwarmer-length gloves!! I may have a complete set to show you by tomorrow afternoon.
